Location: River Gallery School, Brattleboro, VT
March 26, 27, 28 | Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, 10am-2:30pm

In this workshop we will be experimenting with incorporating elements of drawing with painting to generate exciting, authentic and unique works of art. Exercises will incorporate experimental drawing exercises, drawing from a live figure model, collage, mixed media and painting to eventually merge into unified works of art that delves into unchartered territory for each student to continue to explore independently. One-one-one instruction will be provided to each student, supplemented by painting demonstrations and slide shows to view and discuss topics covered in class.

Students will be provided with a generous supply of painting materials and drawing supplies. Students are responsible for supplying their own painting surfaces.

This painting workshop is for anyone wanting to explore non-representational painting. In this workshop, we will be focusing on the use of color, brushwork and mark-making techniques, while taking artistic risks in order to find one's own unique voice. Students may bring works in progress, older paintings they would like to go back into or paint over, or blank canvases and painting supports to start new works. This class provides a supportive environment for painters who wish to push their painting to the next level. Appropriate for both beginning and advanced students.

Students are responsible for supplying their own paper, canvas and painting surfaces.
