Snow Farm, Williamsburg, MA | April 26 +27, 2025

In this 2-Day intensive painting workshop, students will be able to explore the exciting and dynamic process of creating multi-panel paintings harmonized through color, composition, and painterly brushwork techniques. Students will be supported by Cameron to realize their vision with a freedom to work either representationally or abstractly, and the choice to bring source materials, or create intuitively.

Cameron will be providing instruction and demonstrations in oils, and oil pigments and painting supplies will be provided by Snow Farm. Students who prefer to work in acrylics may do so by bringing their paints and accompanying mediums.

Appropriate for both beginning, experienced, and advanced painters, this painting workshop will provide a supportive environment with individualized instruction augmented by demos, discussions, and slide presentations featuring historical and contemporary artists.

Revive & Reimagine Old Work:

Bring in your unfinished, unresolved or abandoned paintings and give them a fresh start!

River Gallery School, Brattleboro, VT

June 2 + 3,  2025 | 11am - 4pm

Part of the unique beauty of oil painting is the depth of color that can be achieved as a result of layering oil pigments, using both transparent and opaque layers of color. Just like the Old Masters employed, the more layers an oil painting has, often the richer it can become!

Join Cameron Schmitz for a 2-Day workshop to discover the richness and inspiration that can be discovered by using previously unfinished works as an underpainting!  Explore the creative and inspirational potential by re-working your unfinished, unresolved or abandoned paintings. In this workshop, students will take time to discuss ways to re-enter a work or give it an entirely new and fresh start! Cameron will discuss ideas and demonstrate strategies for selecting parts of your previous painting, using glazing techniques combined with layers of opacity, to create luminous, depth-filled, color-rich paintings. This workshop is using oil paints, but students are welcome to bring in any existing paintings in both acrylic and/or oil.

$350 tuition
